Issue 182.3 / 2016 of Arquitectura Viva thematizes the Third Industrial Revolution and its impact on our industrial heritage.
The industrial revolutions from the 18th to the 20th century left their marks in contemporary cities through a vast series of industrial buildings and infrastructures such as mines, constructions halls, factories and warehouses. Today these buildings have not only an immense economic value, they also contribute to the identity of the areas and places they are located in. This issue of Arquitectura Viva presents five projects dealing with protection, but also the conversion of such industrial buildings for complying the requirements of the Third Industrial Revolution.
